September 5 Update
-
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI) along with the Route 130 bridge contractor met at the Town office this morning.
-
Although they encountered some unexpected challenges with the bridge rehabilitation project, they are confident in the quality of the work being completed and are pushing for a full opening by the end of September.
-
They may be able to open one lane earlier than that, and it may only be for a day or two at a time. Due to logistics involved, they likely will not be adjusting all the detour signs when these brief one lane openings are happening, so be sure to follow our Facebook page so you stay up-to-date.
-
DTI are also reviewing traffic pattern options for the covered bridge once the Route 130 bridge reopens. We will post updates as details are available.
August 23 Update
-
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure's contractor has experienced some challenges in the replacement of the span at the Route 130 bridge.
-
Therefore, it will not be opening September 13 as originally hoped.
-
They expect to have a better idea of the new opening date later next week once the beams are in place.
-
They are also exploring the feasibility of being able to open one lane before the full re-opening.
June 12 Update
-
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure have added a traffic light in the northbound lane of Main Street.
-
A stop line was added to the southbound lane. Traffic must stop on red light.
-
Detour signs have been added directing traffic to a safe place to turn to access the Old Florenceville Bridge.
June 8 Update:
-
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure have confirmed the lights are only for the right turn onto the Old Florenceville Bridge.
-
Both directions of Main Street are able to be free flowing and people coming off the end of the bridge still have to stop at the stop sign before entering Main Street, as they have always had to do.
-
Please use caution while everyone gets used to the new traffic pattern.
June 4 Update:
-
Traffic lights are planned to be set up at the Old Florenceville Bridge on Thursday, June 6
-
Full closure of Route 130 Bridge is planned for 6pm on Monday, June 10
